Pay no booking fees

There are no hidden booking fees when you rent our cottages.

About booking fees

Did you know that most vacation rental websites charge you a booking fee on top of the owner’s rental rates? Until recently the vacation rental websites just charged the property owners a flat fee to appear on their sites and they still do – but now, both the owner and the renter are charged, so the vacation rental website makes money off both ends of the transaction.

The booking fees are generated by the rental website’s proprietary algorithm so there is no transparency in how they are calculated and it is sometimes a large portion of the renters total cost. The property owners do not have any control over the rental website booking fee and do not receive any portion of it – their rates are always their rates.

Whether you choose to rent one of our cottages or another vacation rental, save yourself the additional booking fee by booking directly with the owner. If you find a property on a rental website, take a moment to search the name and location. Many property owners have their own websites as well, and will take a direct booking so you can avoid the booking fees.
